All You Ever Wanted was to Escape Salvation

This work is a reflection of my experience as the daughter of my immigrant father. Throughout my life, I have tried to reconcile his hero’s journey to the U.S. and his “third New York” brand of patriotism with the realities of U.S. intervention in Latin America and the treatment of immigrants in conservative enclaves of NYC.

This series has fed directly into an upcoming collection of works focused on the Medusa myth as a metaphor for American colonialism.
